Wazuh and AI For Enhanced SOC Workflows

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Security Operations Centers (SOCs) by automating repetitive tasks, uncovering patterns in large datasets, and accelerating decision-making. Modern SOCs face challenges such as high alert volumes, analyst fatigue, and the complexity of correlating events across distributed environments. AI-assisted workflows help reduce these burdens by providing contextual explanations, summarizing findings, and recommending remediation actions.

Wazuh, an open-source security platform, offers flexible AI adoption through the Wazuh AI Analyst on Wazuh Cloud and integrations with third-party AI providers. The Wazuh AI Analyst is an automated service that processes security data through Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic’s Claude, delivering periodic email reports with key indicators, endpoint coverage, alert volumes, active vulnerabilities, and posture summaries. It ensures privacy by not sharing data with third parties or using it for model training.

For organizations with strict privacy requirements, Wazuh supports self-hosted LLM integrations using Llama 3 and Ollama, keeping all data on-premises. Alternatively, externally managed integrations with Claude 3.5 Haiku via Amazon Bedrock can be embedded in the Wazuh dashboard using OpenSearch Assistant, providing conversational guidance for common tasks.
