The U.K. sports-fashion retail company JD Sports recently announced that one of its servers was breached, exposing the personal information of 10 million customers who had made online orders between November 2018 and October 2020. The breach also affected sub-brands such as JD, Size?, Millets, Blacks, Scotts, and MilletSport. JD Sports filed a notice with the London Stock Exchange on 30th of January 2023, warning customers about the data breach and advising them to be vigilant to the risk of fraud and phishing attacks. The notice also stated that the company does not store full payment details, and that account passwords were not accessed. Customers are advised to change their passwords on the JD Sports account and on any other platform if they are in the habit of reusing credentials.
