Microsoft is investigating an ongoing incident causing intermittent issues for users attempting to access SharePoint Online sites. Part of the Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint Online is a cloud-based collaboration and document management platform that allows users to create websites, store and share documents, and collaborate on content over the Internet. As the company announced earlier today in an incident alert published in the message center, users are seeing "Something went wrong" errors when attempting to open SharePoint Online sites. Redmond first acknowledged this incident at 03:06 UTC, with the latest update published at 09:29, stating that Microsoft engineers are still investigating the root cause of these access issues. Until a solution is available and the issues are resolved, Microsoft said that those affected may be able to work around these problems with the help of incognito mode, also known to Microsoft Edge users as InPrivate browsing. While the company has yet to disclose which regions are affected by this issue and its extent, Microsoft has tagged it as an incident, typically used to describe a critical service issue that causes noticeable user impact. This week, the company also addressed a DNS misconfiguration that was causing one-time passcode (OTP) message delivery failures in Exchange Online for some users.
