As pointed out by Tibor Blaho on X, while discussing the Deep Research feature, Isa Fulford, Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, confirmed that the company is testing Deep Research for free customers and will share more details soon. At the moment, Deep Research is limited to 10 queries per month for Plus subscribers. This means you have 10 separate Deep Research tasks, and it does not count any follow-up messages or modifications as a new task. To start a "deep research," you just need to enter your query like "Create a report on obesity and its causes or effects," and the Deep Research tool will query all possible keywords to deliver the result. "If you haven't tried deep research, it's available now for Pro, Pro, Teams, Enterprise and EDU users, and we'll launch you to free very soon," Isa Fulford noted in the webcast. Once you have access to Deep Research, you need to open chatgpt.com, start a new conversation, and you'll find the new Deep Research toggle in the message composer. At the moment, Deep Research is available only for Plus and Enterprise customers, but it's now being prepared for everyone, including those who do not pay for ChatGPT.
