The cybersecurity vendor says the planned acquisition will assist with improving visibility across multiple types of assets and environments.
Rapid7 announced Monday it has reached a deal to acquire Noetic Cyber, a startup whose technology is aimed at bolstering the vendor's capabilities in cyber asset attack surface management.
The Boston-based cybersecurity vendor didn't disclose the terms of the acquisition deal.
Founded in 2019, Noetic Cyber had raised at least $20 million in funding, including a $15 million Series A round in 2021 led by Energy Impact Partners.
The deal comes as Rapid7 is reportedly facing pressure from an activist investor to get acquired itself.
Jana Partners disclosed last week that it has obtained a major stake in Rapid7 with the goal of forcing the publicly traded vendor to be taken private, via an acquisition by private equity, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
